One of the most interesting challenges of recent years was the creation of financial model for a start-up that was already in existence. The challenge came from the need to separate two business units out of one combined entity. Investors expressed interest in one side of the business or the other, requiring both historical and pro forma financials for the individual units.
A major model was built to provide the owners and potential investors with the ability to see how the business would look by adjusting a few variables. After surviving due diligence by multiple companies the business was able to secure funding and is on its way to great success.
